Our VIDEO comeback!!

Welcome back to our latest post! It has been a long time since our last post, and we create something new! We prepared a video for you guys!

This is the storyline :

Pretty simple, eh? Yeah, we only made the video into 2-minute clip and this is what we made regarding
Artificial Intelligence topic, and one of the disadvantage of it.

and....... THIS IS THE VIDEO!

P.S : sorry we cant make it good, we only take it by a digicam , not an HD handycam or so. but thanks for watching ! :D

My Opinion about Future Robot Mechanism

When i talk about artificial intelligence, the newest microsoft game console which is xbox 360 kinect always inside my mind. This xbox 360 kinect is a game console which can read human movement and then process it in the console and then perform our movement in the screen to play the games. I never see this console by my eyes, but i assume that this console has a camera which will read movement or it has a censor which can detect movement. I think, the reader camera and censor detector are also used in the artificial intelligence world which in this case they perform as the eyes of the robots. The robot detect the movement or read the movement and then the data will be transfered to its 'brain' and the robot will react according to what the creator program.

Robotic Car

Few days ago, I found info about Robotic Car (not as driving itself, but just to park on its own) and i started searching for it. From a post  titled "What we are driving at" written by Stanford Professor Sebastian Thrun of  Grand and Urban Challenge Fame, it was unveiled that Google is developing robotic cars.

Our automated cars, manned by trained operators, just drove from our Mountain View campus to our Santa Monica office and on to Hollywood Boulevard. They’ve driven down Lombard Street, crossed the Golden Gate bridge, navigated the Pacific Coast Highway, and even made it all the way around Lake Tahoe. All in all, our self-driving cars have logged over 140,000 miles. We think this is a first in robotics research.
Google have automated Priuses and Audi TT as part of this project. and Stanford also preparing Audi TTS for autonomously driving to the top of Pikes Peak.

So what we would expect as an outcome from this project? Just stay tune in this blog for next update of this news!

Robot's Future

From Science Daily, i read that computer scientist program robot to play soccer. Robot will recognize object from the camera on its head and process it. The robot are program to play soccer and they predict that Robots are able to compete against world champion by 2050. The idea of this robot is it can move and program to read the ball from the camera on its head and try to score a goal.

small bugs, big functions.

Digital ants and birds, then, are good at thinking up solutions to problems, but some scientists are now working on something that can act as well as think: robots. A swarm of small, cheap robots can achieve through co-operation the same results as individual big, expensive robots—and with more flexibility and robustness; if one robot goes down, the swarm keeps going.Later, the “Swarmanoid” project will be ready to demonstrated. This is based on three sorts of small, simple robot, each with a different function, that co-operate in exploring an environment. Eye-bots take a look around and locate interesting objects. Foot-bots then give hand-bots a ride to places identified by the eye-bots. The hand-bots pick up the objects of interest. And they all run home.

TIGAL Launches VRbot

The VRbot is a is a tiny, low cost voice recognition module designed to easily add versatile voice command functionality to Robots and many additional applications where voice command control is desired.
The VRbot module provides users with 26 built-in Speaker Independent commands that allow basic control of robot movement straight out-of-the-box. The module has been designed to fit inside the chest cover of Robonova-I and Robozak robots and is ready to run immediately after installation. Users also have the possibility to customize up to 32 user-defined Speaker Dependent triggers or commands and assign the to specific movement sequences of the robot using included Windows based GUI software.
The VRbot module can also be used to efficiently implement Voice Recognition capabilities on a vast range of other host platforms that have an UART at TTL level or are capable of emulating one through Bit Banging, such as Arduino Boards, PIC, ATMEGA, ARM etc.
above all, artificial intelligence plays a important role in these days. human beings get a lot of benefits from them

Underwater World Robot

Robots don't have to breath. It makes them can stay longer in the water than human. That's why scientists try to create this AUV (autonomous underwater vehicles) to dive and do human things. This prototype is smaller, cheaper, and stronger than the previous prototype. Before, they need cable to control the underwater robot, but AUV is an automatic robot which have its own 'brain' which have been setup to do work by itself. This robot can go the the check point to do its work and then go back to the main point, and then go back to the check point again to maintain something if needed. This is still planning but they will try it in 2011 and they plan that this prototype can go till 6000 metres depth.
